I am a visual artist currently living in Houston, Texas. I specialize in painting oil on canvas, and drawing charcoal, pastel and oil pastel on paper, as well as dabble in most other two-dimensional work. I have been drawing and painting most of my life, probably since the first time someone gave me my first box of crayons. I was discovered in second grade by my art teacher, Mrs. Lammers, most likely because I wasn't paying attention in class. Since then, I have loved all things art and prefer shopping for art supplies over shopping for clothes. I spend most of my time in my studio. My goal is to the best visual artist I can be, to perfect my painting and drawing techniques, to put a smile on the face of humanity, to preserve nature, the natural world, our environment, and create a greater appreciation for art, nature, freedom and artistic expression among the masses.
Me of course! I am a fan of Vincent van Gogh, and the usual cast of characters, Paul Gauguin, Pablo Picasso, Rembrandt van Rijn, Da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Claude Monet, etc. I also have many living artist friends, most of which are local Houstonians as well as all my friends on My Space.
As far as performers... we are all performers on the stage of life. Spread the love! Peace to all!
Favorite Visual Art Spaces:
Currently, my favorite local spaces are Heights Gallery on 19th St. in the Heights and Hans Payan Art Gallery on Dulvany St in Montrose because they are both kind enough to display my artwork.
Internationally, my favorite places to visit are Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, The Toledo Museum of Art in Toledo, Ohio, the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach California, Lawndale Art Center, Houston The National Gallery, London, England and many more....
Favorite Performing Art Spaces:
Woodlands Pavillion, The Woodlands, Texas
Pine Knob, Pontiac, Michigan
And all points between!
I have been working on a departure from the garden but still feel a need to play with vegetables and butterflies. I am inclined to experiment more with other subjects. I have always been very inspired by ancient art forms and styles. It is not as easy as it looks.
