Where do you get your film developed? Or do you do it yourself?

I have all the equipment I need for a darkroom and even set it up and used it a few times. Unfortunately I just did not have the space for it, so I took it all down and packed it away until I have a bigger place. I've been using mailers from A&I. It gets expensive!

Lots of photographers I know have temporary darkrooms. Most, in fact. Developing film really takes no more space than a kitchen or bathroom sink (just be very careful about the chemistry!)

I have my own darkroom, but before that I was processing the film in the kitchen. Takes less space and time than making dinner!

it was just a bother setting things up and taking them down, and i live with too many people, there is just no room. of course there is room to develop my film, but i want prints too. so it's just been easier to send my film off to get both done at the same time.

i can't wait to use my enlarger again though! she's too pretty to sit in my closet.

What kind of enlarger do you have? I've been on a gear-buying marathon lately--so much stuff so cheap these days! 2 enlargers, and now an 8x10 camera!

The problem with sending off the film is you lose creative control. But most important is that you are still shooting! There is a magic about the darkroom processes............

if you take film classes at GLASSELL you can use their darkroom for class related or personal work. it's all Black and White and they have a developing area with chemicals, containers, evertyhing - and then a fairly large dark room

i stopped going in the summer but may pick up again in the fall - its a really nice program
