A Blogging Panel

Event: Tuesday, March 18, 2008 - WIVLA General Membership Meeting

Program: A Blogging Panel: Joyce Boatright (http://commons.chron.com/jb1964), Lane Devereux (www.lanedev.blogspot.com) and Stevie Ballow (http://ararething.blogspot.com)

WIVLA Bloggers Stevie Ballow, Joyce Boatright and Lane Devereux, will share their experiences blogging and tell us how to set up our own blogs at the March meeting. See what these bloggers are writing before you come to the meeting in March. Read Lane's provocative article "Angel in the House" at www.lanedev.com. Open Stevie's site www.ararething.com and see how she is using it for her business and to support others. Joyce has interesting writer prompts at http://commons.chron.com/jb1964.
Bloggers are making news. Recently, political blogger Joshua Micah Marshall won a George Polk Award. As the first blogger to receive the Polk (www.talkingpointsmemo.com) his blog was elevated to the mainstream of media reporting. This blog has a remarkable 750,000 visitors each month and certainly changes the thought of blogging as "just among friends."
