thanks for the friends invitation. I am still confused about exactly how to accept or how to return the invitation so I am hoping that I am currently doing both.
Hope to meet you in person soon.
happy New year.
THANX FOR YOUR ADD REQUEST. APOLOGIES FOR TAKING SO LONG TO ACCEPT IT. I'VE BEN FURTHERING WORK ON MY SOLO COMING UP AT ELDER STREET ON THE 9TH OF FEB. YOU SHOULD COME. YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED :)!!!
I SAW A PHOTO OF YOU AND YOUR WORK IN CHUY BENITEZ'S 'ROW HOUSE' INSTALLATION. YEAH, ME AND PHOTOGRAPHER SERGIO SANTOS WENT THRE AND CHUY'S HOUSE WAS OUR FAVORITE; LTHOUGH, THRE ARE OTHER HOUSES THAT ARE COOL TOO.
SO SAD TO READ ABOUT WHAT'S GONE DOWN AT CSAW. I'M THINKING OF SUBMITTING FOR THAT NEW SPACE, BOX 13, ON HARRISBURG ST.
By the way, one of my contributions at CSAW was building the communal bathrooms at the front which had been going downhill for years! Upper walls, some of the better wiring, studio build-outs etc. as well... Lots of memories!
Hey Skeez-
As a former CSAW artist and board member from way back, I was really saddened to read about what's going on at CSAW... We used to have some wild and artful times at the old CSAW. Smoking, spraypaint, tablesaws, live LOUD jams, ganja, spontaneous expression (and occasional petty bickering) were all "de rigeur!" The creative energy and caliber of the artists was as high as it gets. Mrs. Dumas was so cool. We went 501C3 nonprofit when I was there, and my wife, Alicia Duplan and I organized the 2nd art crawl that no-one else would touch, leading to that ever growing mainstay of the artscene- I love CSAW- Thanks for the update... Best of luck to you and the other red-headed stepchildren- Peace and Love- John
