About Me:
I have fallen into a void where there is no individuality, no unique private world, no authorship or originality. I find myself not in utopia but dystopia. There is no space; there is no silence. All inventions have been invented and recombination replaces creation. I fight the void. I become incapable of representing my current experience except through things that already exist. I dredge the archives seeking new meaning through new combinations. A rapid rhythm of change accelerates as I move through the limited number of combinations. Empty space is filled up. I consume all. Signifiers fail to link into coherent wholes. I pile up the appropriated fragments ceaselessly and empty them of their significance. The promise of new meaning evades me. The narrative stands still. Reality becomes that which is defined by media. Life is subordinate to the laws of the market. High and low culture merge. I sense loss and I drink Diet Coke like a dog gets excited about going for a walk ON A LEASH.

Favorite Artists/Performers:
judd, serra, morris, hesse, rauschenberg, and so many others...
Favorite Visual Art Spaces:
the side of the freeway; big trash pickup. umm. a nonfood filled dumpster. piles of tires. rust, decay. i-10 when they rip up the cement and forests and balls of rebar shoot into the air in tangled masses....well all that and the menil.
Favorite Performing Art Spaces:
um. watching the drama unfold while someone has a really private, intimate conversation while totally broadcasting in a public space.

My exhibition at the GGallery has been extended through July 3. Go by and see feet of shadows trudge this space of absence.

Hi, Kathy- I saw you but didn't get a chance to speak at your G Gallery opening. I appreciated your work, but I particularly enjoyed reading the list of favorite visual art spaces here in your profile. Even though I am someone who periodically mattes and frames and hangs photographs for public scrutiny and potential cash, I share your appreciation for the random stuff out there on the roadsides and in backyards and store windows that entertains, amuses, and provokes me as much as any gallery offering.
...that is, unless you were just being ironic, in which case you may disregard this comment.

very thoughtful and tragic - thunderdome - stimulating in a beautiful repulsive, hopeless, helpless, in your face sort of way - large, deliberate and intentional - like airing dirty laundry - very interesting perspective - everything that you do is new meaning - you are teaching - not regurg - enjoyed

i am over here at box 13 artspace, 6700 harrisburg (south of the maxwell coffee plant). it's not a warehouse, but it is a great building.

i am still changing tires.
patch your flats and keep rolling till the steam roller comes in...then you'll have to get out of the way for condos

Hello Kathy!
I saw your pieces on Houston Ave. It looks fantastic, like a extraterrestrial civilization.
Can I make a picture and post in my Russian blog?

Incessant wanting.

In the space of absence.

Intimacy. Fear. Proximity. Disturbing nearness. Loss of shallow distance. Contamination. Enclosure. Enclusion. Exclusion. Exception. Endless waiting. Out of place. Out of time. Out of tune. Profound unsettling. Mode of eradication. Intolerance. Non-recognition. Residue. Degeneration of public space. Incessant wanting. Defense mechanism of self enclosure. Numbness.

...The 'state of emergency' in which we live is not the exception but the rule
