Working Hard or Hardly workin'

It's been a while since I last "blogged." Things have been in full swing since I was last on. I have three days of Art Classes with the 90 students and two children who have joined my family five days a week. Between Art Club, Dance Class and Drama...there isn't much time left over just to veg. But somehow we still found time to make it to the Museum two weeks ago. I took four kids with me to see the artwork by Frederick Remington and we had to go through the Asian Art Exhibit to get there, and… Continue

Presenting 'Lalu', an artiste in the making.

The many adventures of a soon to be 5 year old.

Today we went to "Paint Day in the Park" and got to visit with Max Boyd Harrison, Kelly Gale Amen, Aimi & Mike Dunn, and John Painter and many others. Special thanks to Kelly Gale Amen for coordinating this and to Max for inviting us. It was a lot of fun.

So much fun that 'Lalu' didn't want to stop painting. She insisted that we paint when we got home.

Check out the photos and you'll see my littl… Continue

Paint Day in the Park

Max Boyd Harrison is a fabulous artist and gallery owner, and one I consider a close friend. He's always got something up his sleeve and something great going on in his gallery. I can say "impartially," that his gallery is a must stop every time I go into Houston. Where else
can you find a place where your own child can create artwork on the floor among
the most celebrated local artists, amid hopefuls, neophytes and
masterworks.

HEY STAACY,

HOW ARE THINGS??

SLOWED DOWN A BIT; ENUFF TO REALLY DIG INTO IT??

THINGS ARE GOING WELL

ARE YOU GOING TO ART LEAGUE'S 'GRANDE MASQUE BALL' ON THE 17TH??? ARE YOU ON AUCTION??

IF SO, I'LL SEE YOU THERE. BUT HOPEFULLY WE'LL RUN INTO EACH OTHER AGAIN AT THE MFAH.

BY THE WAY, I'D LOVE TO HAVE A COPY OF THAT PIC OF US IN THE MFAH [LAW BUILDING] WAY BACK IN THE DAYS WHEN WE FISRT MET.

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU AND I HAVE HISTORY NOW??

UNBELIEVABLE LIFE; ALL GOOD IN EVERY DIRECTION THOUGH :)))!!!

Isn't that Asian exhibit at the MFA awesome!! After seeing Red Hot, I got re-exicited about Pop Art, the level of societal consumerism and futurists' mentalities. Most impacting to me were the giant feet walking out of the ceiling and the floating cell phones in the photo realist painting; inadvertantly emulating Magritte a bit.

I have 2 cats. Cholo and Prophet. Phrophet is the old one, she walks around the house like she is the queen. Cholo is the jackass. If something is knocked over, it's usually his fault. I can't wait for the day my son can walk/run, then we'll have the cat go running by, chased by our dog, andfollowed by the kid. I think that qualifies as the deffinition of pure chaos.

Fridge cat is a popular internet joke, you might like this page. http://lolcat.com/
