- About Me:
- I am an artist who does library work. I work as a Children's Librarian at the Smith Neighborhood Library. I love it, as it allows me great opportunities for creativity and service to the community. When not working, I focus on bettering my skills as an artist, writer, dollmaker, and bellydancer. My goal is to pursue writing, performance and artmaking as a full-time artist and craftsperson. I volunteer two Sundays a month at HGallery on 19th Street in the Heights, which is directed by the extremely gifted visionary artist Heidi Powell-Prera. I also work with Vonetta Berry, a fabulous mom, amazing multitasker and creator of ABC BodyArts.
I've had Netflix for a while, and I still think it is awesome!!!! Due to budget cuts, I'll soon be down to receiving only one DVD at a time.
And, my biggest news so far: I had my show first solo show at HGallery on October 4, 2008. It was originally scheduled for Sept. 13, but, Ike nixed that. All in all, I'm quite proud of the art I produced and how everything pulled together. I'll have pix up soon!

Back again!
Howdy! Haven't been on here in a while, and it feels great to be back. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
I continue to make art, and the flow of ideas is pretty massive, sometimes it's hard to settle on any one idea to work on. I have to remind myself, focus, work on stuff for your show! And that pretty much puts it all in perspective. It's a struggle sometimes. I have a 5 year old daughter, and, almost always, just when I'm really getting into working on a piece, or, just settling down to work, guess… Continue

Works in progress (yay! I'm actually making art!)
Well, I've begun work on a piece for my show in September. I dissembled a small wooded chair that I'm going reassemble into a skeleton. I've been wanting to make some kind of skeleton figure for some time, so, this is gonna be fun. I collect skeleton figures, and I've had a passion for them them ever since I discovered the Day of the Dead. I love the idea of making one of my own.
