- LeoNilde Carabba, born in Monza on the 28th.11, 1938 becomes acquainted with the Milanese artist spheres in the sixties. In 1966 she experiments on light reflecting; without help of mechanics the artist performs to obtain a bright surface with variable light intensity according to the spectator’s visual angle. The Light has always been the Centre of her interests. In the last years her work has become more refined and hinged on depth symbols, about which Riccardo Barletta wrote: “Symbols of no time and no place, as they can be found in any age or culture. The Sacred Mountain, the Maze, the Sun, the Zigurath, the Pyramid, the Mandala. It is a dictionary where any word becomes the Word”.
She made exhibitions in Italy, Norh Europe and California, where she lived for five years. Recently the Lem Art Group has published, first of a series of eight, a poster, for the International Market: “Planetario: Spirale della Grande Madre e Cielo di Chirone”. She is on the Web-Site of the Saatchi Gallery of London with her paintings and with her most recent work: a Video/DVD “Dancing around the ONE”, with music of Marcela Pavia. The Video, a work of art in its own, has been, recently, to the Florence Biennial 2007.
