I was invited by the Art Guys to create an Art Guys tribute song for their upcoming Art Guys Tribute Album.
Never one to miss an opportunity to those very silly -- and brilliant -- Art Guys, I have created a very nice song for them called, "The Ballad of Jack and Mike".
Here's the URL for the tune, which you can download in MP3 format. The lyrics are on the page, with links to some of the AG events / activities which I mention in my song:
Check out two pieces in the Crest Hardware Store Art Show in Williamsburg, Brooklyn!
The show is the "brain child" of GENE POOL, who came into town for the opening. Gene's looking GREAT (hasn't changed a day) and it was so great seeing him again.
It was a great opening... with over 1500 people turning out, inspite of the heat!
The show is being held over for an extra week due to a review that's supposed to come out in the NYTimes. It'll be up through the weekend of July 16th, so if you are going to be in NYC, be sure to stop in and check it out.
I have posted our "last-hour" proposal to the Art Guy's FOREVER YOURS Art Auction wherein those wacky Art Guys offered their own crematory ashes for sale (after their deaths) for 1 million dollars.
The URL below lists our proposal for trade, as well as their response:

Hey Deb,
Glad you joinded us in this corner of cyberspace, it was great to see you at ACM, and many thanks for shooting the show. Will atempt to send you video sometime soon. WELCOME!
Painter, photographer, writer, guitar/ukulele player and old-time music singer.
I work in a unique multi-layer process that incorporates watercolor, printing, and both digital photography and classic (hot wax) encaustic painting. Recently I've been moving from encaustic into acrylic since encaustic has many issues with storage and shipping, acrylic is easier to handle, and the results so far have been great. But I'll never give up encaustic!
I was co-founder and house-manager for Commerce Street Artists Warehouse during it's first seven years (1985 - 1992).
Gillian Welch, Edith Frost, Carter Burwell, Elliott Smith, Radiohead, Carter Family, Web Pierce, Hank Sr, Blonde Redhead, Neutral Milk Hotel, Mogwai, Fiddling John Carson, Lily Mae Ledford, The Stanley Brothers, the Louvin Brothers, Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, Wilco, Sun Volt, and many more.
Favorite Visual Art Spaces:
Art Car Museum, Station Museum, Art Guys World Headquarters, CAM, Art League, and my own personal baby: COMMERCE STREET ARTISTS WAREHOUSE!
Favorite Performing Art Spaces:
Art Guys World Headquarters, CSAW. Sorry, I've been away for 15 years and I'm rusty on my Houston venues!
