Hey Joe! Yes I have some great shots of Deniqua, I don't know if you met her, but she was one of the most excited artists I've ever met. She was very proud her work sold. Of course, it was awesome!
You'll see where to go from here for photos: www.gravyballs.com/

Cheers!

Yo- I took Carrie Mercado's arts test Sunday...It was fun! Kinda makes you think in ways I don't get to very often anymore. I encourage everyone here to jump at the chance if she offers again.

About Me:
I'm an artist; mostly harmless. I own the Yale Street Arts Market and manage the Artists At Large mailing list. Its a "Call To Artists" announcement only list with about 500 active members. My artwork has mostly been in acrylic, though I first studied in oil. Painting has taken a back seat to promoting and pr in the arts community lately.

King Biscuit Tonight!

The last few weeks I've been going to the King Biscuit on Wednesdays.
First just for a snack and cocktail, hooked now because of the Danielle Reich Trio.

Yes, I've already tentatively booked them at Yale Street Market for a couple of summer evening shows.
BUT come and preview them with me! Heck, last week David Adickes stepped on stage and sang a song!
Wow! 7 to 10pm. (on Tuesday nights is a jazz jam, but I'm just going Wed.)

So come on! Lets lounge about like we're in a Paris Cafe of the 20's… Continue

Houston's only monthly outdoor art festival showcases artists from all over city and state, prepares for four year anniversary March 1

Houston Heights, February 19, 2008 - Month after month for the past four years, artists have gathered on an empty parking and transformed it into the Yale Street Arts Market, a small scale arts festival. Originally located on the lot of Kaplans Ben-Hur department store, since closed, the artists have moved to 19th Street, at Wind Water Gallery Asian Antiques. Th… Continue

Exercise, Eat Right & Buy Art! Saturday

Happy New Year!

Ready for 2008? I like to say, Exercise, Eat Right & Buy Art! At the Yale Street Arts Market of course! See, you can fulfill all those pesky resolutions in one place and visit with all the great artists in the Heights.

Below are some photos from the December market (most of them are) and most, if not all, are by Jaden Davis. Jaden really captured what I see each month at the market. I'm convinced that if everyone could just "see" the market, they'd think tha… Continue

Yale Street Arts Market Saturday! DAY DAY DAYTIME!

Heights, October 5, 2007 - Yale Street Arts Market returns to
daytime hours from 11 a.m - 7

on 19th St, the popular shopping district of the Houston Heights, the
outdoor market has all the charm of an old world market, only
featuring artists and fine crafts instead of vegetables and imported

goods. The market has everything from original paintings and
photography to indie craft items like jewelry, handmade dolls,
