I remember years ago I was visiting in Helena. Montana when I happened upon an exhibit of paintings by Charles Russell. I was (and still am) a Russell afficionado. Besides his vibrant figures in action, no one, not even Remington could portray the beauty of the American west as well as C.M. Russell. Naturally, being a artist, I wanted to examine his paintings more closely to see in detail to see the colors he used to depict the sunsets, the mesas. the wide-open plains. Ugh! Don't get too close!…
