I recently posted information about the Del Rio Ram Stampede. It has garnered some responses and I appreciate that. It also raised some questions:

1. Yes, the orginal deadline was June 28. There were not enough submissions to present adequate and sufficient choices to local merchants who might sponsor a ram, so the program was extended.

2. No, there is not a deadline at this point. The program is on-going in the hope that artists and potential sponsors will be interested enough to help this program get off the ground. If you need a deadline to motivate yourself ... called it May 1st, 2010.

3. The original concept is for the artists to work on the rams at the Firehouse in Del Rio. For some of us that is not practical since we live and work 350 miles away. Transport of the rams is the responsibility of the artists. The rams are not heavy and they are not terribly large (Not as large as the prospectus says) but they are life-sized.

4. The way the program is to work is for the DRCA at the Firehouse to collect the artists' submissions and then submit them to city hall where a respresentative will take them around to merchants and try to sell the proggram - and the rams, so to speak.

I hope this answers questions many of you have had.
