Insurance for Paintings hanging in gallerys or stores

I have work hanging in several places now (first time to do this) and am wondering about protecting my work in case it gets damaged or stolen. Do I need to buy insurance myself in case the gallery or store does not have sufficient insurance? I'd be interested to know what others are doing...
