Artists Reception and Benefit for the Susan G Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation

On Wednesday September 10, 2008 at 6pm - Inversion Coffee House, my friend Kelly Gale Amen and I will be hosting an artists' reception to benefit the Susan G Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation. Kelly and I have created a body of work on display at Inversion Coffee House
The work combines Kelly's 'KGA Honoring the Promise Collection' Komen Chair (the focus of the benefit fundraising) with a group of four oil paintings I completed in August. Kelly's chair is part of a collection he has created to benefit the Susan G Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation. Beneficial, beautiful and functional art. My work is a set of "I Don't Care" chairs. Studys in oil and canvas. The paintings are very loose (for me) and frivolous. My intention was to induce a calm and neutral state of imagination. I painted what I thought were inviting intimate places. Someplace it is alright to say a healthy "I don't care."
