Artists Attention: 2009 Artist-in-Residence Taipei Open Call for International Projects
Intended to encourage intercity exchanges, a new fellowship, “Sister Cities Taipei,” has been established this year in the 2009 Artist-in-Residency Taipei Program.
2009 AIR Taipei Open Call focuses on projects in the arts & culture, creative industry, and interdisciplinary and business-arts collaboration. The residency sites include the downtown Taipei Artist Village and a new site, Grass Mountain Artist Village, located in Yangmingshan National Park at the northern edge of Taipei. Three projects will be selected for the “Sister Cities Taipei” fellowship. Each fellowship will include 4-8 weeks of free accommodations, an art studio and one round-trip economy class air ticket.
Since the establishment of Taipei Artist Village (TAV) in 2001, exchanges between Taiwanese and international artists have been its most important mission. In seven years TAV has sent nearly 80 Taiwanese artists abroad for residencies and hosted over 200 international artists-in-residence, who have brought their creations to life in many corners of our city. We are hoping the artists from XXX will enrich the program and give the people of Taipei the opportunity to become familiar with XXX culture at a deeper level.
The applicant should submit his or her completed application, together with a letter of recommendation, to “2009 AIR Taipei,” no later than August 18, 2008. Please find the guideline and application form from the website:
