Myspace doesn't like those msplinks in the above post (and the email). Myspace gives a weird error message... bizarro!

As much as I would, very much, like to attend a gathering of people who like friendly positive music, food and dance, it seems that the so-called DJ's are not the kind of people I want to be near, just in case somebody pops a cap in their asses.
In going to the 'witnes' site, the first words I run into are these:

"B**tch I wish you wooooood.......burn my mothaf***in clothes!"

I am no longer of the age group that likes to experience sad, desperate situations.
There is no information about good safe parking. I fear my stereo will be gone if I park my car there.

Thanks for the invitation, but I would want serious verifiable assurances that the police would also be well represented at the gathering.

I'm just not a kid anymore and I don't want to lose my life at such a place.

Thanks,
Dan Lewis

Dan-

I am not sure why you would draw such conclusions based on the above quote. It is slightly puzzling.

The event is not a gathering of Gangsta's and no one will get a cap in their asses, although Museum goers are generally gay-friendly :-) The event is taking place at the Contemporary Arts Museum located in the Museum district. While no area in Houston is safe from stereo bandits, this is probably one of the safest areas in town as it is surrounded by plenty of wealthy Houstonians.

I can give you serious verifiable assurance that this will be a fun party in a positive atmosphere - not a sad desperate one. As for police presence, I believe it is mandatory to have a certain amount of cops present in ratio to number of attendees.

You should not feel afraid of coming into Houston and the Museum District; DJ's and hip-hop do not equal guns and violence. However, dont force it. If you feel unsure about coming, you should listen to your heart. That's really what's most important.

Between the nightmarish parking in that area and the crime-promoting hip-hip/rap, I'll have to pass on this one. Thanks for the invitation just the same.
