Portal to Houston's Art Community

The 4th Annual Empty Bowls Event will be held Saturday, May 17th at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and Lawndale Art Center. For a donation of $25 you will go home with a free lunch, a bowl of your choice and all the entertainment from three bands, art demonstrators and a beautiful day in Houston's Art District that you can stomach! 100% of the event proceeds go to the Houston Food Bank. Also, there will be "bump" table where celebrity signed and/or painted bowls will be available for a bit higher donation. These include: The Houston Astros, the Dynamos, the Texans, Mayor Bill White, Jimmy LaFave, and many, many more! First come, first served! Dallas/Ft.Worth broke a record this year and we want to show them who's best... so come out and have fun!

AND.... if you want to make and donate a bowl(s) we are taking them through May 16th at the Craft Center. Be sure to fill out one of the forms they give you so we can send you a tax donation certificate. Bowls can be made from ANY material - functional or otherwise.

Let's just say we have some big ass to kick! They did VERY well, but we can do better! Last year we raised over 40K, and this year it will have to much, much, more. We have already done better each year than other Texas cities did during their equivalent year; i.e.: our third year was better than their third year.
