Nova Arts Project, the Houston theatre company dedicated to recreating classics and inspiring new works in a fearlessly theatrical way, presents the regional premiere of Love Loves a Pornographer, a post-modern take on a Victorian drawing room comedy, by Los Angeles-based playwright Jeff Goode (author of The Eight: Reindeer Monologues and winner of Winner of L.A. Drama Critics Circle award for Writing).

’Love Loves a Pornographer’ is a comedy of Wildean wit and preposterousness: Lord Loveworthy has a problem. His only daughter is soon to be married. And the only way to pay for her wedding is to blackmail the literary critic who’s seducing his wife. But how does a Victorian pornographer commit extortion, without inordinate discord, at tea?

Directed by Rob Kimbro in his debut with Nova Arts Project, featuring Nova Arts Project company members Seán Patrick Judge and Jenni Rebecca Stephenson, Love Loves a Pornographer promises to be a fresh (and surprisingly un-risque) take on a familiar comic form.

Love Loves a Pornographer opens Thursday, April 10 and runs through Saturday for the next three weekends, closing April 26.
