Perry House`s work continues to amaze me, over the years I`ve watched his progression through three fazes, the "Innards", "Explosions", and now the "Aftermaths", One particular painting from the "Innards" that was on the invitation for his show at Diverse Works is pinned up on the wall in my studio. It is as good a painting as any I have ever seen, and continues to inspire. Ibsen Espada happens to be my next door neighbor. We visit each others studio and discuss the work several times a week, so I have been fortunate enough to see all Ibsen`s paintings in progress, and on some occasions to watch him work. His painting "Hocus Pokus" on the invitation for his show at College of the Mainland is also pinned on my wall in the studio, and continues to inspire.
Thanks to Noah Edmundson for hatching the idea to paint the cars, and his astute statement in the catalog. Working with him, Tom, and Mary at ACM was an absolute dream and was one of the two best museum show experiences I have had.(the other being the Station) Also many thanks to Barbara Jones for pitching in and to Shelly for playing the part of the artist`s muse, I couldn`t have done it without you!
