ArtsHouston

Portal to Houston's Art Community

Since 1992 this free event has been happening every 3rd Saturday in November. Artists in the warehouses near Downtown invite the public into their studios and galleries to mingle and browse. There wont be Metro shuttles this year, so the tour is self guided. There are alternate modes of transport though - people can use motor scooter or pedicab 'rickshaws'. I'm not sure on this one, so I urge you to inquire about this on your own, but there might also be horse carriages or electric cars available. People are otherwise encouraged to car pool, bike, or walk the tour. There are 27 venues and around 200 participating artists this year. There will be food and drink, a wide variety of art exhibits, and likely live performances or other forms of entertainment. Each year there is always a fun surprise to be found for all. If you or a group of friends want something fairly adventurous and unusual to do on a weekend, come on out to the Art Crawl. Spend the day trying to see as much art as you can, or just pick a few favorites for an evening's diversion.

PDF event maps are available on the website or contact MotherDog Studios at 713 2229 9760 for more information.
